One of the places Jake Remembered will support through its fundraising efforts is an organization called ThriveWell Cancer Foundation. When Jake was told that traditional cancer treatments would not work on his cancer, his sister, Sarah, found South Texas Accelerated Research Therapeutics, in San Antonio, Texas.  At START, Jake received research drugs, through a clinical trial, in an attempt to cure him of his cancer.  

Although Jake was not cured of his Stage IV cancer, the research drugs he received at START gave him 19 more months of life instead of the 3-6 months his first doctor predicted.  When Jake Remembered donates money to ThriveWell and specifies that it be used for research, START is able to continue testing new drugs that may put an end to cancer.
